5508 – SGL supplies 5508 – TSA Surfacecheck® N 4W (Tryptone Soya Agar+Neutralisers) Quad, as a ready-to-use medium for general microbial cultivation, environmental monitoring and routine microbiological quality control. The product supports pharmaceutical microbiology, biotechnology, water testing and environmental-testing applications. It is relevant to workflows described in USP <61>/<62>, Ph. Eur. 2.6.12/2.6.13 and, where applicable, the performance-testing principles of ISO 11133.

TSA Surfacecheck® N 4W (Tryptone Soya Agar+Neutralisers) Quad, also known as casein soya bean digest agar, provides a non-selective, non-differential, general-purpose medium for cultivating and isolating fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms. Its nutrient-rich formulation supports the growth of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and moulds.

Tryptic digest of casein and peptic digest of soya bean meal supply complementary peptides and amino acids, creating a rich and balanced nutrient profile that supports microbial recovery and growth. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance of the medium, while agar solidifies the medium and provides a stable surface for colony development.

Laboratories use contact plates to detect surface contamination in cleanrooms, healthcare facilities and other hygiene-critical environments. Users press the raised agar surface directly against the area under investigation, transferring microorganisms onto the medium. After the specified incubation period, users count the resulting colonies to assess the level of surface contamination.

SGL quadruple-wraps and irradiates each pack to maintain sterility and support controlled transfer into cleanroom environments. SGL manufactures this product in compliance with ISO 9001 (Ref. FM37824). A UKAS-accredited laboratory (ISO 17025, Ref. 4356) performs product testing. SGL can also conduct additional specification testing to meet individual customer requirements
