5307 -SGL supplies TSA Aircheck® N (Tryptone Soya Agar + Neutralisers) 90mm Plate Irradiated in ready-to-use, gamma-irradiated 90 mm plates for general cultivation, environmental monitoring and microbial recovery in routine microbiological quality control.

TSA, also known as casein soya bean digest agar, provides a nutritionally rich, general-purpose medium that supports the recovery of a wide range of bacteria and fungi. This formulation contains neutralising agents that reduce the growth-inhibiting effects of residual disinfectants and other antimicrobial substances, supporting microbial recovery and appropriate disinfectant efficacy testing.

SGL triple-wraps and gamma-irradiates the plates to enhance sterility assurance and facilitate transfer into VHP-treated cleanroom environments. The plates support pharmaceutical microbiology, biotechnology, environmental monitoring, water testing and other environmental-testing applications.

The neutralising agents perform complementary functions:

• Histidine neutralises aldehydes.
• Tween 80 (polysorbate 80) helps solubilise and disperse lecithin throughout the medium and contributes to the neutralisation of quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs), parabens and iodine.
• Lecithin neutralises QACs, bis-biguanides and parabens. Together, Tween 80 and lecithin also support the neutralisation of phenolics and alcohols.
• Sodium thiosulphate neutralises chlorine, bromine-based compounds and aldehydes.

Where applicable, the product supports workflows described in USP <61> and <62>, Ph. Eur. 2.6.12 and 2.6.13, ISO 11133, EU GMP Annex 1 and ISO 14698.

SGL manufactures the product in compliance with ISO 9001 (reference FM37824). A UKAS-accredited laboratory operating to ISO/IEC 17025 (accreditation number 4356) tests the product. At the customer’s request, the laboratory can also perform additional specification testing.
