Pseudomonas Selective Agar CFC 90mm pre-poured agar plates – these use a Pseudomonas agar base supplemented with Cephaloridine, Fucidin, and Cetrimide (CFC) as a selective medium of the isolation and presumptive identification of Pseudomonas, spp. in the water & environmental testing sectors.

Pseudomonas CFC Agar, 90mm Plate is a ready-to-use prepared plate supplied by SGL for selective detection, isolation and presumptive identification of Pseudomonas. spp. It is suitable for use in water testing; environmental testing; cosmetics and personal care.
The medium complies with the requirements of EN ISO 13720 for the detection and enumeration of Pseudomonas spp. in meat and meat products, including poultry, and with ISO 11133.
Pseudomonas CFC Selective Agar supports the selective isolation and presumptive identification of Pseudomonas spp. Gelatin, peptone and casein hydrolysate supply essential nutrients and growth factors, while glycerol provides a carbon and energy source. Magnesium chloride and potassium sulphate enhance characteristic pigment production, aiding identification. Cetrimide, fucidin and cephalosporin suppress competing microorganisms and improve selectivity for Pseudomonas spp. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a non-fermentative, strictly aerobic, catalase and oxidase positive gram-negative rod. The presence of blue/green pigmentation or fluorescence is indicative of presumptive identification of Pseudomonas.
